Exhibitions - Olympic Journey
During the 2012 Olympic Games, the main public spaces of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden was taken over by BP and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne to create The Olympic Journey: The Story of the Games.
This showcased many of the star artefacts of the museum, including all the different medals since 1896 and torches from 1936, together with excellent AV footage and interpretation
The challenge of the project was that we only had 36 (long) hours on site from the final Opera House’s performance to the opening of the exhibition to coincide with the Olympic Opening Ceremony. DHA Designs worked closely with Hypsos in Holland to pre-programme as much as possible prior to the installation, and took a hands-on approach to get the project opened on time
